[3D TV]
Like any specialized device, these LCD glasses haven’t sold like gangbusters. But that might change now that Sony is getting into the picture, and adding 3D to the mix. Sony displayed their HMZ-T1, a 3D-enabled helmet mounted visor, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year. The specs were pretty impressive and costly, because each of the two screens in the visor that the person is looking at is OLED-driven (a much more costly screen than LCD, but one that can display blacks much better). As you can imagine, price isn’t going to be bargain basement as all indications are that it will cost close to or even more than $800.00. …
Attaching this guy doesn’t require going through hoops or adding software to the mix or any of that nonsense. You just plug a HDMI cable into it and the other end into the video source — or if you prefer, into an amplifier to use as a video switcher. …
It might sound kind of nutty, but something like this could be a much better alternative then having to buy a new 3D TV. … And with the whole “social media” thing being so big and bringing people together while actually keeping them apart — putting on a headset like this to go into your own 3D “world” might be just the ticket.
