3DTV Broadcast Standards Taking Shape

There is a new technology that is making inroads into the 3d transmission world. Using this technology 3D format data could be transmitted both to mobile as well as fixed devices. The technology is being developed by ATSC. Currently the S12 specialist group is being headed by Dr. Youngkwon Lim. They are laying down the standards required for 3D transmission using this new technology. The technology would use transmission using hybrid as well as real time reception over broadband as well as to mobile devices also. …

There is a meeting held by the S-12 group every other day and the next is scheduled for 23 or 24 May. The venue for the meet is Jeju island and starts on 22 May. There would be display of field trials and transmission to fixed mobile hybrid devices or network.
