[Press Release]
DDD Group Plc confirms the signing of a licensing agreement with Sony, that launched its latest VAIO S-Series laptop PCs using the TriDef 3D solution for automatic 2D to 3D game conversion and 3D photo viewing. TriDef 3D enables 3D gaming and photos in conjunction with a 3D monitor or 3D TV connected to the laptop. Also, Sony is offering a ‘glasses-free’ 3D accessory that allows 3D viewing on the VAIO S-Series laptop without glasses.
The partnership between DDD and Sony marks the first time that 2D notebooks would include 3D features, bringing 3D to the PC mass market. The TriDef 3D software allows over 540 of the latest PC games to be played in stereoscopic 3D ‘off the shelf’, even though the game has not been specifically developed for 3D.
DDD’s TriDef 2D to 3D game conversion engine is compatible with DirectX 9, 10 and 11 games. Also, the company noted that its unique high-performance Power 3D render mode increases the frames per second, making the game run smoother and faster, while using less power.
