Dutch private broadcaster SBS has stopped the 3D broadcasts of its Net 5 channel due to “content rights issues”.
The channel had been simulcasting its regular 2D programming in a 3D upscaled version and was available on the Ziggo cable network.
According to a spokesperson for Ziggo, “The reason for this is, according to SBS, in the area of content rights.” Net 5 3D was the only 24-hour 3D channel available in the country.
Ziggo and fellow cable operator UPC continue to offer a limited number of 3D movie titles on their respective VOD services.
