Nintendo 3DS may feature 3D video recording in a future update (rumor)

The 3DS is already known to be capable of taking 3D photos, but recent hints from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata suggest that 3D video recording functionality might be added at some point via a future update.

The comments (translated by Andriasang) were made in the latest installment of Iwata Asks on the Nintendo Website. Shigeru Miyamoto reportedly stated that Iwata plans to expand on the 3D photo taking features of the handheld to incorporate video recording in 3D. Iwata is said to have replied that it “would be enjoyable” if such functionality could be implemented via a “future version up” of the 3DS.
