The MIPTV market ended on April 4th with a 3D Bootcamp hosted by the Fraunhoher HHI. Despite the hype about 3D being over, new 3D programmes continued to be promoted.

[3D Focus]

…Still quite on the 3D front, ITV Studios were offering the ICON Films production (in association with Animal Planet for 3net), River Monsters 3D. Shot in 3D, Jeremy Wade navigates the Okavango Delta for the popular extreme fishing series.

Ananda Media have completed a 83 minute 3D documentary about the contest known as Nuit de la Glisse. At the Very Last Moment 3D, supported by perfectmoment.com, documents the free-riding, bmx’ing big waving exploits of the Nuit de la Glisse from the last ten years. Other segments include mountain biking in Chamonix with YouTube sensation Dany MacAskill, big wave surfing in Portugal with Garret McNamara and wingsuit and speedriding descents of the Mont Blanc.

One company that really caught the attention of 3D Focus was COW PROD, who produce the 3D magazine lifestyle show MAG 3D, for Orange TV/DailyMotion 3D. Amongst others they were showing clips from the pilot of SHAR3D LINES – A documentary introducing Speed Riding. This new extreme sport combines Freestyle ski and a paragliding wing.  The show follows three of the best speed riders in the world to understand their motivation and philosophy. The viewer will share a part of the sensations thanks to breathtaking POVs made possible by a system specially created for the film. …
