A 3D-based form of fine art is taking off that is called “lenticularimagery.” it is based off of creating depth through a series of images and lenses. This also gives some of these art pieces an illusion of movement. …
This form of art isn’t stereo 3D like we see on the big screen; but still belongs to the 3D category and is often compared withstereo 3D. It is kind of like a blend between animation and still images, depending on how it is utilized. I would also say it can be compared to autostereoscopic, or glasses-free imagery.
In fact, a 3D Center of Art and Photography in Northwest Portland is offering classes on how to make lenticular images, according to OregonLive.
“The 3D Center of Art & Photography this month is hosting a two-session class on creating lenticular images, 3-D images that can be seen without the aid of special glasses,” the report states, clearly referring to the tech as glasses-free 3D. …
