Day 3 of the Seoul International 3D Fair had two presentations on the art of 3D, and one overview of the 3D landscape.
Film Director and Lecturer Young Dom Hee discussed the options for tying story elements and 3D effect together, such as using 3D “depth bracket” to express a character’s emotional state or to enhance a climactic sequence.

She also discussed the different uses of “personal space” – the space at the front of the “depth bracket,” and “world space” – the background space within the “depth bracket.”
Prof Jeonggueon Woo, the Exec Dir of the Media Art and Storytelling Research Center at Dankook University, Korea, discussed S3D Storytelling. His research centers on developing and advancing a language for 3D storytelling. The graphic above, used by Ms Hee, illustrates one aspect of his work.
The ETC’s Phil Lelyveld gave the closing keynote of the Fair with a one hour presentation titled “Art, Technology, Business, and Health Aspects of 3D.” He covered six topics;
